marrakesh

it's our first full day as a group, and we are visiting marrakech's hotspots with our local guide! we'll start at jardin majorelle, which is an absolute dream. it was created in 1922, and more recently, in 1980, it was bought by yves saint laurent, who wanted to save it from being turned into a hotel. thank goodness he did because it is a super special place to visit! once we've seen all of the iconic spots, we'll head back to the medina for some shopping. markets in morocco are unlike anywhere else, so dust off your haggling skills, gals!! in the evening, we'll go out for a group dinner overlooking the centre of the medina.

I went on the Morocco Uncovered GWT trip in March and had the time of my life!! This was my first trip like this and I’m soooo glad I did it.

The activities on the trip were amazing and our guide, Driss, went above and beyond to make sure we were getting the most out of our trip. I felt truly immersed in Moroccan culture and feel so lucky to have experienced the Sahara Desert, Atlas Mountains, and Marrakech.

I also found this trip really reasonable price for all of the bucket list activities we were doing. Would recommend this trip to anyone!

I went on the 11 day Gals who travel Bali Paradise trip. It was such a great experience, all the girls were lovely and the activities perfect. 10/10 recommend! Mita our guide was absolutely amazing! She’s the most organised, beautiful soul I’ve ever met. The trip would not have been the same without her! She was there through everything, always with so much enthusiasm and compassion. Through long journeys and hot days she kept our spirits high and always has a smile on her face! It’s been a pleasure to learn about Bali and the culture through Mita. She’s a credit to Tru Travels and deserves a trip to Japan, it’s her dream!

She always had the best recommendations for shops, restaurants and took us to the best cookie shop ever! We had family dinner with her every night, it was always a pleasure!

I recently completed the Gals Who Travel: Morocco Uncovered trip and it was honestly one of the best weeks of my life, it exceeded all of my expectations.

Our tour guide, Driss, was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond every single day to make the experience special. From organising additional cultural experiences like visiting women’s cooperatives, to teaching us Arabic, songs and Moroccan dances, and introducing us to local people, he made the trip feel so authentic and immersive. He also took the time to get to know everyone personally and made sure every need was met seamlessly. He is hardworking, welcoming, and one of the most engaging people I’ve ever met. Tru Travels are very lucky to have him, and anyone who gets him as a guide is in for an amazing experience.

The itinerary itself was perfectly curated. We experienced such a variety, cities, countryside, mountains, and the Sahara, without spending too much time travelling. Even the travel days were enjoyable, with plenty of stops along the way to experience even more of Morocco’s culture and scenery.

I couldn’t recommend Tru Travels or this trip more highly, it was an unforgettable experience

Morocco Uncovered was even more incredible than I expected. From the bustling streets of Marrakech, to local villages in the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara desert - Morocco has it all. We were able to see and do so much on this trip and truly feel immersed in Moroccan culture. The trip was made even more amazing by our tour guide, Driss, who went above and beyond to make every experience special. Especially taking us to women owned places as a group of girls. As a female traveller I felt safe in Morocco as part of this group, and I’m truly grateful to have booked onto such an amazing trip and made so many core memories. Life is good ❤️
